Criss crossing cultures

The Erasmus project was a great experience for us students, and I'm sure for teachers as well. I had the huge privilege to host a Romanian boy in my house. We bonded a lot and even celebrated his birthday together with my family. We've also established a beautiful friendship with the other guys in the project and at the time of departure we all cried a lot. With the virtual mobility we had the opportunity to see places all over Europe and learn about other countries' folklore and traditions behind a screen. Of course we missed contact with people but in that particular moment it wasn't possible to do otherwise. Anyway we still managed to talk to the other countries' students via social media and exchange our opinions and experiences. What a pity that this journey has come to an end! A special thanks to everyone who took part to it and made it that special.

A Wonderful Experience

Working on an Erasmus project gave me the opportunity to learn many things about foreign countries. The mobility to Italy was a virtual one, so unfortunately we did not have the possibility to meet in person because of the covid-19 pandemic.
It was a great experience anyway.
I hope to take part in future Erasmus+ projects.

CRISS CROSSING CULTURES

This project was  fantastic because it allowed me to have contacts with people from various parts of europe, even if only virtually.
We had the possibility to make them discover our world, our culture, our habits and in turn  we had the occasion to know their culture.
I have established a beautiful relationship with many guys because we created a group on instagram to chat every day even outside the project.
I remember I hosted a girl from Romania for one week 3 years ago and it was an unforgettable experience because being in contact every day with people of different nationalities  helps you also improve your language skills.
I hope to have the opportunity to live this experience in person because in my opinion these great experiences  help you  feel stronger and more confident.  It helps you  face difficult situations in life and widen our knowledge.

About the virtual mobility

Erasmus project is a great opportunity, it allows you to meet new people, different cultures, learn a new language. I think it is a fantastic experience.
It was a pity that the mobility to Italy was a virtual one because we couldn't have a real contact with host students. I hope that one day I can take part in it in person.

Criss crossing culture

Erasmus programme made us meet beautiful people from other European countries and learn their culture and language, which we think is very important. It was a beautiful and interesting experience and we liked it very much!

Criss crossing cultures

Our Erasmus project was very important because it made me know different cultures and helped me improve the English language. I really liked the experience of the mobility to Italy even if it was virtual. I'd like to meet the partners in person one day and to spend a lot of time together.

This experience was really important for me, this project made me understand the importance of intercultural dialogue and also that Erasmus is a bridge which unites students all over Europe, it gave me the chance to know new cultures and I'm very sorry it's over.

Criss Crossing Cultures.

The Erasmus project in my opinion is a beautiful experience that makes us grow, travel and meet new people, it allows us to learn new languages, to visit other countries and experience new things and new cultures.  Unfortunately last year it wasn't possible to do it live due to the covid but we participated online and it was still fantastic. A unique experience to be repeated.

Criss Crossing Cultures • my experience

Last year I had the opportunity to meet, albeit virtually, many students of my age from various European countries. It was truly a wonderful experience, and it was fantastic to get to know other cultures also thanks to common elements that united all the countries (as in this case, belonging to the Mediterranean culture).
I feel honored for taking part in the project, it enriched me culturally and allowed me to meet new people, with whom I stayed in touch on social media!

The families that were hosting us were very kind and always by our sides. We never hesitated asking for help as they made us feel very comfortable. Personally, I enjoyed the pool at the girl's house that I stayed at.

Their school in Seville was remarkable and way bigger than ours something that we found very exciting. They had a huge library that they did a lecture in to show us  a project of their city.

THE LAST DAY OF THE VIRTUAL TOUR

On the last day of the virtual tour we showed videos in which students from our dance school danced. They were great! We let the Partners virtually visit famous cities in Italy and we shared many cultural aspects of our local area.
We said goodbye to our Erasmus friends by showing a video about the beautiful  moments we lived together in Spain, Greece and Portugal during the Erasmus meetings. It was very moving, also because we did not have the opportunity to meet in person. Maybe we will meet some day!

comment for the blog

Hi,my name is Loredana!

The Erasmus Virtual Mobility from 24th to 28h May 2021 was a wonderful experience because it allowed me to meet new people and to know about the traditions of other countries. I think that is a nice experience to do because you can learn new things and make new friends.

Moreover, taking part in the Erasmus activities in my school I had the occasion to learn about the Erasmus Programme, to use English for our presentations, to make videos, to research information, to study the culture which the Partners belong to. I LOVE ERASMUS!

My Erasmus experience in Portugal

Last February I went to Portugal thanks to the Erasmus project. I stayed there for almost a week and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I went there with some students and two teachers from my school and we had a great time together.
We visited many great places like the center of Porto, we saw how different the school is outside of Italy, but the most amazing things are the people we met. Erasmus is beautiful above all for this reason: because it allows you to meet many new people and to make many new friends.
Then sometimes the people you meet are so kind and special that you continue to keep in touch with them, even after you get home.
I'm a bit shy and I remember that the first two days of Erasmus weren't that great. I wasn't talking to anyone and it was embarrassing for me. But then I started to get to know everyone, I met beautiful people and I didn't want to go home anymore! I found that we share many passions and the best part is that I am still in contact with many of them.
So, if you have the chance to participate in an Erasmus project, do it, you will have a great experience and I'm sure you will never regret it!

VIRTUAL MOBILITY

On the third and fourth days of the virtual mobility, we led the Partners to the beautiful towns of Tropea and Pizzo, which are very famous summer resorts. We went on taking them to the archaeological museums of Vibo Valentia and Reggio Calabria. In the museum of Reggio Calabria we showed the famous bronzes, two full-sized Greek bronzes of naked bearded warriors cast about 460-450 BC, originally found in the sea in 1972 near Riace, in the province of Reggio Calabria. Famous all over the world, they are now considered one of the symbols of Calabria. All the Partners from Greece, Portugal, Spain and Italy enjoyed the virtual tour during which the students also had the opportunity to realize how similar the Greek and Italian cultures are, and that our roots are deeply connected since the Greeks colonised Southern Italy, as a video created by the Greek students showed.

Erasmus Virtual Mobility

Erasmus Virtual Mobility - May 24th 2021

Dear international friends,
I would like to welcome you to Vibo Valentia to the last  mobility of the Erasmus Project we have been working on since 2019. Unfortunately because of the pandemic it was not possible to hold the meeting in presence so we would like  to invite you to take part in a virtual tour of our town, our school, our museums and interesting places near Vibo Valentia.
I hope that this virtual meeting will give us the opportunity to strengthen our Partnership.
